Sellers of Cell Content Criticized
According to an article from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, there is a crackdown about to happen on the aggressive, and often deceiving, sales practices of providers of downloadable content such as ringtones, screen savers, and games.
The moves come after numerous complaints and a lawsuit against cell phone content providers. Many customers who thought that they were downloading a single ringtone are being enrolled in weekly or monthly subscription plans. Often the information about the membership is included in the fine print of a television commercial with the most notable being from ringtone provider, Jamster.
