Profits Sky Rocket from RingTone Sales

Ring tone sales are off the hook. As compact disc sales decline, ring tone sales are going through the roof. Now consumer's can hear not only ring tones with incoming calls, they can hear there favortie tunes when calling others as well.

In 2005, ring tones made an estimated $600 million collectively, which was 20% ahead of estimates and more than double the 2004 take. The top leader in sales, 50 Cent with Candy Shop sold 1.9 million in downloads which surpassed Gwen Stefani's HollaBack Girl with only 1.2 million in digital song downloading.

As cell phone options build, growth in the industry is inevitable. Newer cell phones can support MP3 tones (actual song recordings) ; a huge improvement over the popular polyphonic ring tones. With hip hop music dominating the ring tone downloads, master tones (MP3) will be the catalyst for expansion.
