Sox Fans Text Crazy

Fans watching games from the World Champion Chicago White Sox at US Cellular Field or on the local Fox television station can answer a question via text messaging that is displayed on the stadium Jumbotron. Fans answer the initial question and then are sent a series of questions via text message. For each correct answer, the fan gets a chance to win prizes that include Sox tickets, merchandise, and even a chance to deliver the lineup card to home plate prior to a game.
This is just another example of how innovative sports teams are using text messaging to reach their fan base. It is especially important with baseball as younger fans have moved away from baseball in recent years and text messaging makes a baseball team seem more relevent to the lifestyles of teens and young adults.
